Celine Dion steps out amid battle with stiff person syndrome just weeks after presenting Taylor Swift with album of the year award
Sunday after she had been battling an incurable condition known as stiff-person syndrome.
Dion has been away from the limelight after her condition worsened, and her appearance at the Grammys was an emotional episode in her life as she walked onstage with the help of Rene-Charles Angelil, her eldest son.As soon as people saw Celine they stood up and cheered her on as she presented the Album of the Year category in front of a crowd that would continue the standing ovation.
Celine thanked the crowd for the outstanding welcome ‘Thank you, all! I love you right back. You look beautiful. When I say I’m happy to be here, I really mean it from my heart.”
‘Those who have been blessed enough to be here at the Grammy Awards must never take for granted the tremendous love and joy that music brings to our lives and to people all around the world.” She said to a room full of A-listers.
‘And now it gives me great joy to present a Grammy Award that two legends Diana Ross and Sting presented to me 27 years ago. These are the outstanding nominees for album of the year.’
