Meghan Markle’s estranged father, Thomas Markle, has shared his thoughts on King Charles III’s grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. In a recent interview, Thomas also revealed his feelings about Prince Harry, expressing disbelief that he has never met his son-in-law.

Thomas Markle admitted that his daughter Meghan is the “one person I want to hear from most,” although he acknowledges that she likely won’t be in touch with him to wish him a happy birthday or even offer a chance for a meeting. Despite this, he holds onto the hope of reconnecting with her someday.

Speaking to New Zealand Woman’s Weekly, Harry’s father-in-law said: “It struck me as very sad that Meghan and Harry’s kids are being denied the right to know their cousins, who look like fantastic children, or take part in things like Trooping the Colour, which is their birthright.”

Thomas, who turns 80 on July 18, continued: “They are getting to the age where they will start to ask questions, as all kids do. I find myself wondering how Archie and Lilbet will feel in a few years’ time when they realize all the things they have missed out on.”

The strained relationship between Thomas and Meghan has been widely publicized, especially after the paparazzi scandal that led to his absence from her wedding in 2018. Since then, the father and daughter have reportedly not spoken.

Reflecting on his relationship with Meghan, Thomas expressed regret and longing. “It’s been years since I’ve spoken to Meghan. I miss her and would love to be a part of her life and my grandchildren’s lives,” he said. He also noted the significance of family connections, stating, “Family is important, and I hope we can find a way to bridge the gap that has come between us.”

Thomas Markle’s comments come amid ongoing public interest in the dynamics of the British royal family and Meghan and Harry’s lives in the United States. His candid remarks highlight the personal struggles and familial challenges that continue to affect their relationships.

Despite the estrangement, Thomas remains hopeful. “I always have hope,” he said. “I hope that one day we can sit down and talk. I want nothing more than to be part of Meghan’s life and to meet my grandchildren.”

As the public continues to follow the story of Meghan, Harry, and their families, Thomas Markle’s words serve as a poignant reminder of the complexities of family relationships, particularly under the intense scrutiny of the media and public eye. His desire to reconnect with his daughter and meet his grandchildren underscores a universal theme of familial love and reconciliation.
