Jennifer Lopez made her highly anticipated return to the awards show scene following her recent split from Ben Affleck, appearing at the American Music Awards’ 50th Anniversary Special on Sunday, October 6.
The 55-year-old singer, who has performed at the AMAs multiple times and won three awards, reflected on the power of music in a pre-recorded segment for the event. She also reminisced about her time hosting the AMAs in 2015, when she delivered a memorable dance medley.

“Music really does have the power to heal, uplift, and connect us. The AMAs have been showcasing that for half a century now, and I’m excited for the next 50 years of music and magic,” she said.
The AMAs celebrated their milestone anniversary on CBS, a first for the network since the event has traditionally aired on ABC since 1974. J.Lo joined a star-studded lineup that included Gladys Knight, Jennifer Hudson, Mariah Carey, and Green Day, among others, to honor the occasion.
