A word of warning to the rest of the NFL – the ‘ offense is beginning to awake from its early-season slumber.

In the past two weeks, the Chiefs’ offense has scored the most points (37 and 28) and had the most total yards of offense (382, 476) this season. Yes, the record is 1-1, but there is no denying that Kansas City is beginning to show signs that things are trending in the right direction.

Oh, and in a couple of weeks, the Chiefs’ No. 1 weapon in Rashee Rice will enter the chat as well, so things appear to be in good order for the AFC champs.

And Patrick Mahomes feels the same.

“We’re getting better,” Mahomes said. “That’s all you can do. We’re getting better and better, obviously we got one more week that we’ll continue to have Rashee [Rice]. Just getting him into the offense as well. But at the end of the day, it’s all about winning.

“I think if we can start making those winning plays, that’s the last step that we need in order to take our offense to the next step.”

Chiefs beginning to roll
Yes, the 2-3 record isn’t great, but considering the injuries the franchise has had to deal with, and now with Xavier Worthy back, and Rice in a week or so, the Chiefs will be, for the first time in forever, fully healthy in terms of Mahomes’ weapons.

And that’s scary.

The past two weeks have shown improvement, and it is glaring to see, and while it hasn’t translated to wins (against the Jaguars), there is more than enough evidence to suggest that this offseason will be just fine, provided it can stay healthy.

The division is still in play, so too playoff football, and Kansas City is getting healthier.

It might be about to get ugly for the rest of the NFL.

Why? The kings of the jungle might have just awoken.
