When the Green Bay Packers pulled off the shocking trade with the Dallas Cowboys that landed them superstar pass rusher Micah Parsons just before the start of the 2025 NFL regular season, many thought that he was the missing piece, one that could fully unlock their Super Bowl dreams.
That looked like the case when Green Bay went on a 2-0 start to the season, defeating the Detroit Lions and the Washington Commanders in Week 1 and Week 2, respectively, while holding both teams to just a combined scoring output of 31 points.
Micah Parsons not happy with Green Bayβs defense against Dallas
On Sunday, however, the Packers allowed Dallas to erupt for 40 points in a 40-40 tie in Arlington. That was an indictment of Green Bayβs defense. Despite missing their top wide receiver, CeeDee Lamb, due to an injury, the Cowboys racked up 436 total yards versus Green Bay.
Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott threw for a total of 319 passing yards and three touchdowns with zero interceptions on 31-of-40 pass completions. He was sacked just once, courtesy of Parsons, but overall, Prescott mostly had his way versus Green Bayβs pass defense. Wide receiver George Pickens recorded 134 receiving yards and two touchdowns on eight catches and 11 targets.
What Parsons saw in Green Bayβs defense was hard for him to accept.

βOwnership is one thing. Doing something about it is another.β
Also said:
βGiving up 40 points, bro, I donβt care where weβre playing. Thatβs just unacceptable.β
The good news for the Packers is that they still have a winning record and a long rest ahead. A bye in Week 5 should allow the Packers to get healthier and find solutions to the problems that have bothered them of late on defense.
