Harrison Butker spoke at a commencement ceremony last week, making statements that sparked significant backlash. Butker dismissed Pride Month and shared his perspective on career ambition for women along with many other things. In response, the NFL released a statement clarifying that Butker’s views do not represent the league as a whole.

Now, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell addressed the controversy surrounding comments On Wednesday, Goodell said, “We have over 3,000 players. We have executives around the league. They have diversity of opinions and thoughts just like America does. That’s something we treasure. That’s part of what ultimately makes us as a society better. We’re not going to go much beyond the statement we made last week.”
